About
"Creativity is the way I share my soul with the world." -Brene Brown
It was so well said.
That's why a wide-eyed eleven year old girl typed 'free blog' into her Google search bar. She designed her own colorful banner and name, designed a few crochet patterns, and posted it on the internet. She found inspiration in her own little world. She enjoyed creating.
And that little girl was me two years ago...
I wanted to find a way to share my ideas with everyone... but most of all I wanted to reach out to fellow crafters. There's something about talking people just as bezerk as you. Am I right?
But whether you're a beginner or seasoned pro. If you like creating, making, and having a great time while doing so... you'll be feeling right at home here.
Why? Because at least once a week you'll receive a thoughtful post about crocheting, free patterns, techniques, stitches, and anything else trending or craft related. In fact, you can check out my patterns and tools right now to see what you think.
But while we're here, lemme introduce myself. I'm Elisabeth, an insane hormonal thirteen year old who just loves to make. I've been crocheting for 3 years now, and I've been blogging for almost 2! Other than crochet I enjoy a warm cup of tea, managing my thick long hair (not so much a hobby), and along side being a musician I organize my little corner on the web.
I learned to crochet the summer before starting middles school. Before I had been struggling to find an online tutorial that made sense to me so that I could finally learn how to crochet. Nothing seemed to make sense... I used a teeny 3.75 mm crochet hook with chunky yarn... yikes. But then later that July my grandma came to visit for few weeks, As cliche as it seems, my grandma volunteered to teach me what she knew. After that, I took my newly found understanding and learned everything there was to know.
A year later I began Geekly Chic Crochet so that I could share what I was learning and making. Don't ask where I got the idea. Maybe I was watching Star Wars or Frenemies... but in my mind it made sense that as nerdy crochet was I could still get a stylish outcome. I created a free Blogger account and I was constantly experimenting with new blog designs and editing programs (seriously, I changed it every other week). Once I learned about the opportunities and started connecting with people through it, I established my goal and bought a blog template. A wha-bam. Geekly Chic Crochet became a part of my life.
Ever since I've enjoyed bringing occasional content to the world. Here on the blog, you can expect to find simplistic patterns, easy to understand tools, and inspiration for your own crafty lifestyle. We can even confess to each other how many WIPs we have, not that you'd even want to know how many I have😑.You can join the fun by saying hello down in the comments!! Tell your story...
